Retail Design Project
Retail design venture was the result of a close collaboration between Quba Design and Yuki Ota, a rising Japanese interior designer. Jakub C., our leading designer, traveled to Japan to discuss a conceptual project for a department store in Tokyo Japan. Mitsubishi Department Store is a retail establishment that offers a wide range of consumer goods, including designer merchandise, furniture, and appliances. As part of their marketing campaign, the Board of Directors invited designers from all over the world to submit their interior design proposals for the accessories’ section. In an effort to bridge cultural influences, Yuki and Jakub focused their design on a modern but minimalistic outlook, and sought inspiration from local architects, such as Tadao Ando. Overall, the design received excellent reviews and commendations from top executives. More importantly, the execution of this project enhanced our understanding of Eastern cultures, strict logistics, and urged us to consistently strive for perfection.
